Onam is coming up fast this year. The festival runs from 16 to 26 August 2026, with Thiruvonam, the main celebration day, falling on Wednesday the 26th. If you're in Dubai and searching "saree draping near me" right now, you're not the only one. Every August we get the same question at the salon: who can pin a kasavu saree properly so it stays put through a full day of visiting family, taking photos, and sitting down for the Onam Sadhya without coming undone.

Draping a saree well is its own small skill. The pleats need to sit evenly, the pallu has to fall at the right length, and the whole thing has to survive hours of movement, not just look good for the first ten minutes. That's the part most people don't want to do themselves on the morning of a big family gathering.

What our saree draping service includes

At Dreams Flower Beauty Salon in Al Karama, saree draping costs AED 150 and takes about 30 minutes. It's a regular part of our price list, so it's available any day of the year, not only during Onam or wedding season. Our team pleats and pins the saree so it holds its shape properly, whether it's a traditional kasavu mundum neriyathum or any other style you're wearing.

What to bring with you

• Your saree, already ironed if possible
• A blouse and petticoat that already fit you
• Any safety pins, brooches, or jewellery you want tucked into the drape
• Comfortable footwear for the walk to your car or the event, since heels change how the pallu sits

If you're also getting your hair or makeup done with us, book those first and have the saree draped last. That way nothing gets disturbed while you're finishing the rest of your look.

Pair it with an Onam package

When to book

The days right before Thiruvonam get busy fast, especially weekend mornings between 16 and 25 August. If you know your event date already, it's worth messaging us a few days ahead on WhatsApp to lock in a slot rather than walking in on the day.
